Nants Ingonyama Bagithi Baba

Pure Bliss
Who is YOUR favorite?
No that is not gibberish. Or a secret code I made up. It is the first line of the Circle of Life from the Lion King, which was released for a second time this week in 3D making 30.2 million $ opening night. (That was a run on sentence). Good on them. I mean, Lion King is about as inspirational as cartoon movies come. I even remember begging my mom to let us watch it every Sunday because it was Spiritual in a way.  We had a "no movie on the Sabbath" rule in our house, that was broken more than it was kept. Lion King was always the main exception. Want to know why I love Lion King? Because it's good. It's Disney, so of course it's good. Lion King is funny, scary, sad, romantic, and magical. All the Disney movies are like that- Except the frog movie. Call me prejudice but we already have an African princess- Nala! Yes, I do love Disney. I don't know where that deep rooted adoration for disney princesses came from, but it's there. I can't explain the pure joy I feel while watching Beauty and The Beast, or Hercules. Let me take a moment to give an in-depth analysis of all the princesses, (or leading ladies) in order from my favorite to least. This might take a moment. Now is the time to tune out and scroll to the bottom, if you wish. So here we go. 1. MEGORA (Hercules).  Her friends call her Meg. She's a sarcastic, fiery, independent, spunky, hilarious, greek maiden that I love. I wanted to be her. Not only is her boyfriend a Muscled out God, she is beautiful. And she can sing. I even dressed like her when I was little. 2. MULAN. I think the Emperor says it best; "I’ve heard a great deal about you, Fa Mulan. You stole your father’s armor, ran away from home, impersonated a soldier, deceived your commanding officer, dishonored the Chinese Army, destroyed my palace, and… you have saved us all." Enough said. (Also, funniest scene ever) 3. POCAHONTAS.  Pocahontas sings what is probably my favorite disney song ever written. Just Around The River Bend. I like to think that I am most like her. I go where the wind blows me, I believe in dreams, the kind that give you personal revelation, and I speak my mind. Pocohontas risked her life for the man she loved. She's also  the most beautiful in my opinion. Long legs, dark skin, full lips, well endowed...right. Pocohontas was so good, James Cameron copied it and called it Avatar. 5. ARIEL. Ariel is searching for more. She doesn't want to be stuck under the sea when there is a whole world above she hasn't yet explored. She has good intentions and a pure heart but she gets caught up in some bad stuff. She ends up selling her voice for legs. Think about that one for a minute. Walk or talk? What would be more important? Anyways she manages to get the best of both worlds in the end. 6. BELLE. Oh how sweet is Belle? She's a reader! She is so kind, she is family oriented, she sees the inner soul, and she's modest!!! I actually really like Belle. I wish she could end up with the Beast, and not his human form. Did you know his real name is Prince Adam? That's a fact. Also, my very first Christmas present. 7. JASMINE. Jasmine is kind of a brat. Typical spoiled princess used to getting what she wants. It just works out that what she wants is Aladdin. Great movie, but I think it's only because he's the real star. 8. AURORA. I want her hair. I don't know, the whole concept of being hidden away for 16 years only to marry your true love after one dance together is a little out there. But hey, I do believe in love at first sight. 9. CINDERELLA. Cinderella is a little too optimistic for me. And I'm not a huge fan of the dress. But one thing I really admire is that she didn't sit around waiting for love to find her- she went and found it. 10. SNOW WHITE. Well she is the very first Princess so she gets some credit for that. All in all I don't think she did much. She's a good housekeeper. A good housekeeper is rare nowadays. Also known for " What do you do when life gets sad? You sing of course!" Which is my philosophy on life. And they lived happily ever after. The end.
